DontRemember
πŸŽ‚ Beyond the reminder

The birthday reminder app that writes and sends the email.

Calendar alerts and reminder apps tell you a birthday is coming, then leave you to write the message. DontRemember writes a genuinely personal birthday email in your voice and sends it from your own Gmail, automatically, every year, at the right time in their timezone.

Free for one person. Unlimited for $20 a year. No card to start.

How it works

Three steps. Then you never think about it again.

01

Add a person

Name, email, who they are to you, and a few real facts. "Loves terrible puns." "We met in Napa." Sixty seconds.

02

We write it

The night before, we draft a note in your voice and tone. You get a heads-up to tweak it, or you don't lift a finger.

03

It lands from you

8 AM, their timezone, from your Gmail. Replies come straight to you. Nobody ever knows.

Try it

Pick a person. Pick a mood. Read what we'd send.

These are real outputs, lightly trimmed. Names changed to protect the forgetful.

Who is it for?
What's the occasion?
How should it sound?

Happy birthday to the only person who beats me at FIFA and still complains about rent

28. You're old now. Welcome. Eleven years of FIFA losses and I still think this is the year. Go spend some SF rent money on cake.

Reminder apps, compared

Every birthday tool remembers the date. Almost none write the email.

The useful question isn't whether you get reminded. It's what happens at 8 AM on the day.

In plain words

A birthday and anniversary email scheduler that writes the email too.

For the handful of people you would be in real trouble for forgetting.

Scheduled birthday emails that recur every year

Gmail's schedule send is one-off. DontRemember stores the birthday once and sends a freshly written email every year, so you never re-enter a date or rewrite a message.

Automatic anniversary emails with the right number of years

Add the year you got together and every anniversary email says 'seven years', then 'eight', without you touching it. Romantic, warm, funny or heartfelt, in your words.

Sent from your own Gmail, in their timezone

Emails go out from your address through Google's Gmail API and land at 8 AM where the recipient lives. Replies come straight back to you. Nothing shows a service.

Written from real facts, reviewed by you

You give three small true details per person. The night before, we draft the email and send you a copy. Edit a line, regenerate with a hint, or let it go out as is.

FAQ

Questions people ask before they stop forgetting.

Is DontRemember a birthday reminder app?+

It starts as one, every date you add is remembered and you're reminded the night before, but it doesn't stop there. It writes the actual birthday email and sends it from your own Gmail, so remembering the date is only step one.

What's the difference between this and a normal birthday reminder app?+

A typical reminder app gets you to the moment of writing a message with an empty text box and a countdown. DontRemember hands you a finished, personal email instead, written from the facts you gave it, ready to send or already sent.

Do I still get a heads-up before it sends?+

Yes. The night before, we draft the email and send you a copy so you can edit it, regenerate it with a hint, or skip it, exactly like a reminder app's alert, except the message is already written.

Does it really come from my email?+

Yes. You connect Gmail once; we send through it with Google's official API. It shows in your Sent folder like any email you wrote.

Will it sound like me?+

You give us the facts and pick a tone; we write in first person and sign with your name. You can edit any draft the night before.

What if I don't like the draft?+

Hit Regenerate with a hint ("mention the pottery class"), edit it inline, or delete it for that year.

What about time zones?+

Each person has their own. We send at 8 AM their time by default, you can change the hour per date.

Is this creepy?+

It's a reminder that also writes the card. If you'd rather write it yourself, the heads-up email gives you the whole night to do exactly that.

Can I schedule a recurring email every year?+

Yes. Add the date once and it recurs every year. Each year we write a fresh email, so it never repeats last year's message.

Does it work with Outlook or only Gmail?+

Gmail only for now. Sending through your own Gmail is what makes the email come from you rather than from us.
